Polyurethane Buffer

Polyurethane buffer is a high-strength, long-lasting elastomer-based safety component used in elevator systems to absorb the impact energy of the cabin or counterweight. Its compact structure ensures controlled stopping.

Polyurethane buffers are modern and durable spare parts used in elevator systems to absorb impact forces that may occur when the cabin or counterweight reaches the lower stopping point. Polyurethane material offers higher impact absorption capacity and form durability compared to traditional rubber buffers.

Thanks to its compact and cylindrical structure, it distributes impact energy evenly across the surface. This feature reduces localized stress on the cabin and mechanical components during sudden stops. Polyurethane buffers stand out especially by providing high-performance solutions in limited installation spaces.

The high resistance of polyurethane material to wear and deformation ensures that the buffer maintains its performance over long periods of use. Its structure preserves its form even under continuous impact and pressure, contributing to longer maintenance intervals and reduced operating costs.

These buffers can be produced in different dimensions suitable for various load and speed classes. Compared to spring buffers, they have a simpler structure, while offering more controlled impact absorption characteristics than springless rubber buffers. For this reason, they are frequently preferred in low and medium-speed elevator systems.

The selection of buffers is vital for elevator safety. The use of polyurethane buffers increases system safety while providing a long-lasting and maintenance-friendly solution. Despite their compact size, they are an important part of the elevator safety chain.
